We are pleased to share news about our soon to be launched Pupil Registers module, offering a central electronic filing cabinet for school data and the unique ability to build unlimited custom “registers”.

Due for release in September 2014, the iSAMS Pupil Registers module can manage and maintain critical school data including SEN Registers, Gifted and Talented Registers, and Child Protection Registers.  It also offers management of central register designs to handle governmental data and statistics.

Key features

Unlimited, bespoke registers: A significant feature of this new module is the ability to create unlimited registers designed for your school’s specific needs.  The registers can re-use sections and fields across each different register thereby reducing any duplication.  Working in the background, there is also a series of default registers that will capture important census data for governmental data and statistics.

The registers use designs that can be exported and imported across different schools.  The module also features:

  • A ‘register builder’ to aid and speed the register creation and set-up process
  • Configurable workflows (on/off register)
  • Unlimited ‘sections’ with customisable naming and display options
  • Custom search filters designed for each register
  • A permissions option that can be set at a register, section or field level

Dynamic sections with unlimited elements: The sections of the registers can include unlimited elements, each with a validation option.  Some examples of the elements include:

  • Textbox
  • Dropdown – a dropdown list of predefined values either unique to the register or shared from a global list
  • Checkbox – true or false
  • Numeric – a number field
  • Date/Time – choose date, time or both
  • Currency – a standard currency field
  • Image List (Picker) – pick inbuilt iSAMS images or upload your own
  • Field Group – a way of grouping elements into logical groups
  • Record Collection – store nested record collections of data
  • File Store – upload unlimited documents

The fields for these elements can be nominated for inclusion in an overview page and marked as exportable or importable.  Custom attributes can also be set on each element to control the width, height and minimum/maximum length.

Easy reporting and publishing:  Reporting keys can be set on each element to allow easy reporting of data through reporting services.  Any element included in the register can also be published to other areas of iSAMS for example pupil manager search results, school lists or reports.

Helpful export and import wizards: The module includes a useful export and import wizard designed to aid the export of any element and the import of any data into a register(s).  The module also includes ‘wizard support’ at every stage of the set-up to ensure the seamless creation of each register.

Launch date

The new Pupil Registers module is due for official release in September 2014.  The module is recommended as an upgrade to our current SEN module, offering schools greater data management and more bespoke registers, suited to each school’s requirements.

Additional information including the official release of the module will be shared in due course.
